Vampires

Vampires, also known as the Children of the Night, are a species of Downworlders. Along with werewolves, vampires are humans infected with a demon disease. However, unlike the former, vampires are considered "undead"; that is, their bodies are no longer alive in the sense that living humans' are. Their undeparted human souls reside within their own animated corpses, kept intact and animated by the demon disease and energy.

Powers

Fascination: Also known as encanto, vampires have the ability to mesmerize and essentially control their prey - mostly mundanes. This skill is improved and perfected over time and practice.

Superhuman physiology: Vampires possess superhuman strength, speed and grace, ironic to their pale and thin appearance. With demon energy within them, their senses' scales are heightened, like the ability to see in clear darkness, smell a few drops of blood a few yards away, and hear whispers from some distance away with perfect clarity.

Accelerated healing: Vampires heal faster than humans due to their demonic disease.

Demon energy: Vampires are capable of imbuing demon energy into inanimate objects in order for them to work. This may be a helpful ability, yet this is clearly forbidden by the Accords.

Shape-shifting: Vampires have the ability to shift their appearances into bats, rats, and dust, among others, maintaining their intelligence in either form.

Immortality: Vampires are immortal due to only having their body reanimated by the demon energy within them. But this does not mean that they are invincible, rather, they are prone to death by sunlight and fire, among others.
